Any places in Abilene that rebuilds autos?

The E4OD in my 97 F-250 may need a rebuild. Are there any shops in town that do a good job of this?

There's a tranny shop right behind Walmart on Southwest that rebuilds transmissions. Dunno how good they are, but I know they do it.

There's also the place right off of 83/84 & S 3rd, next to Sullivan's Powdercoating...

Sorry, I clicked the wrong quote. The one that Richard is talking about is Fains. The one behind Wal-Mart is Ronnie Smith Transmission.

I should know the name of that one behind WalMart, I have driven by it on my way home from work for the last 4 years...

Ronnie Smith's website says $1500 to rebuild the E4OD, is that fair, or too much?

i'd bet you could buy a rebuilt off ebay, internet somewhere for less. Then again I'm used to c4/c6 rebuilds in the 300-500 range.

Better yet get another cheapo to toss in for now then learn to rebuild one yourself...

Look around dude. Maybe not BRAND new, but you could more than likely find a rebuilt or re-manufactured one somewhere for that much.
