Autocross?

Does NASA or SCCA hold any autocross/solo II events anywhere in the area? I do enjoy drag racing, but I like to do a little of everything in this car. Hell, I bought it to enjoy, might as well right?

Motor Sport Ranch (MSR) in DFW is probably the closest thing you'll find to Abilene for autocross.

What would be great is if we could convince Dyess to hold an AutoX event, like the Nellis guys get to have...

That would be pretty cool. I didn't know the Nellis guys were doing that on base, that's awesome

Back in the day Dyess used to shut down the runway once in a while and do drag races on it. That's what my tech school instructor told me.

What exactly is Motor Sport Ranch? Is it just some spot where they do a little of everything motorsport-related, like a theme park for gearheads?

I know when I first got to Langley, we had to evacuate for Hurricane Isabel, and as soon as the waters drained away, they had guys running on the flightline. I don't think it was a sanctioned activity though... lol
