yup gots me a new motor for the cobra yesterday its an 03' Aviator 4V only 54k got it out of dallas/grand prarrie, now im waiting for all my goodies to start getting here so i can hurry and get this thing in there, its gonna be like christmas everyday starting tomorrow yay!

so heres an update we got the motor and pretty much everything on my mod list installed except the 4:10s and the spec clutch since it was the wrong one over the 4th of july holiday just need some o2s and some tuning and should be good, new motor feels great thought

better tires, 3200 stall, ls6 intake manifold, took out somemore weight.. To get 7's i'm probably going to need to get a better tune but i'm gonna see how close i can get before it gets tuned.

last time i was out there i had a best of 8.69 at 82mph, still had the spare tire, jack, and my tool box in the back. I've taken out all that, the back seats are coming out, maybe the passenger seat, and i removed the AIR system.

i was 8.5ish with the spare,jack,sub. that and the radials helped. i might of been able to drive a bit more aggressive, but im not sure if my clutch is slipping or im spinning.

7.9 would make me happy with it being stock everything.

yeah when you added those radials those helped you big time, i know i ran you before you put them on and i think you ran a 9.4ish to my 8.7, then you put the radials on and pulled me pretty hard off the line, i was like WTF!!! I was still on the stock stall then and was launching off an idle, i couldn't get a good launch to save my life pulling 2.0-2.2 60's.

what is really hurting me is the mail order tune that i have, soon it will have a much better tune and should be into the 7's no problem. Next year its going to be getting heads/cam, then we will really be having some fun!!

i got into the 8s on my bald tires lol.. it was high 8s but still 8s.

it wasnt until i put the radials it felt like a roller coaster lol..scared me at first because i have never had it accelerate like that.

well hurry up!! lets do it! we need to run before you leave, on the street or where ever.. I need to fix my exhaust first, it kind of came apart today. I guess a clamp busted that holds the cat-back onto the y-pipe, cause the whole rear section of my exhuast came off and hit the ground on the way home. I bought a 3" turn down to throw on the end of the y-pipe for now till i can get a flowmaster 10 series or magnaflow to put on there. It basically sounds the same as when i ran with the cutout open, actually kind of sounds a little bitter, its not as raspy.

Best I ever got in the Mach was 8.12 and that was with longtubes, gears, and a tune with Nitto drags and about 20 PSI.

i hate buying cars that ppl have had there hands all over unless i know what went in it, matt and i wasted hours the other night when we were going to put the 4:10s in, we got the dif out and found out that it already had the gears in there what a waste, well good thing is that i got a flush out of it and some new royal purple gear oil, we just adlusted the backlash in it cuz it was a little sloppy and put it back together

Why didn't you spin the rear wheel and look at the DS to tell the axle ratio first?

Thought it had 3.73s. ANd we should have done that...but oh well. LIve and learn. It needed new fluid anyway, and the backlash wasn't set properly. So it needed to come apart anyway.

i talked to him a little bit ago, he said it was just his water pump that seized up.. Thats at least the last that i heard, hopefully he didn't find anything else
