I Need traction!!!The Nitto 555R drag radials that are on the rear right now have no traction what so ever with out having to do multiple burnouts so I am gonna pick up a set of Toyo Proxes TQ tires in 345/40/17 I have heard mixed reviews about them but I am going to give them try and see if they hook up better than these ice skates that are on the rear now..

If traction is that big of an issue why wouldn't you go with a better drag radial? Like BFG or Mickey Thompson?

I've had both of those on the rear and while the M/T hook great they wear to damn fast my last set of Mickey's were done after about two months..BFG hook just about as well as the Nitto IMO..Adrian has talked me into trying these as he had them on his Cobra in the exact same size. Plus the price is unbeatable!!

How much are they? I don't know how much power your Supra is putting to the ground, but I know for a fact that Nitto drag radials with about 18 PSI in them hook pretty damn well.

$334.00 for both plus $45.00 shipping

I'm making right at 420/410 at the wheels through the auto with 3800 stall. The lowest I have had them is 20 psi and the just didn't bite the way the Mickey's did. These Toyo's are from what I have read on various forums are the best bang for the buck. On recent test performed on Supraforums a 63mm Supra making 520rwhp did a DR test with the follwing results:
M/T DR 315/35/17---60ft 1.41
Toyo DR 315/35/17--60ft 1.47
BFG DR 315/35/17 --60ft 1.55
Nitto DR 315/35/17 -- 60 ft 1.62
The Toyo came in second place with the on track performance and 1st place with street driveability in wet and dry conditions and 1st place with the pricing.

You won't fit those tires under your back end unless you tub it.

Didn't know you had to tub a Stang to 345's on the rear..

You don't have to tub it...but it won't fit in the wheel well without some massaging...I'm pretty sure. Could be wrong.

I've seen 335's on the back of a Saleen. I'don't know if they made any small mods but I know it wasn't tubbed. On the other hand I have seen an '03 Cobra with rolled lips and 315's.

I've got 315s on my Cobra and it's a snug fit, but I didn't have to remove the quad shocks or roll the fender. They're Nittos so they're a little more narrow than a BFG or MT 315. I'd have to look. I just remember seeing something on one of the forums about someone having to massage the inside of the wheel well on a Mustang to fit 335 BFGs.
