Hey y'all! I'm Chuck, and I'll be relocating to Dyess AFB from northern CA in a couple months, and my black '96 Cobra is comin' with me :woot2:
I look forward to meeting some of you in a few months, once I get out there and settled in

Nice car! Are you coming to the Airlift Group or the Bomb Wing? It's too bad I won't be here to play.

Welcome bro. If you see someone on Dyess in a 07 Orange GT wave at you, that's me. Where are you working?

Welcome. I think we have just about any area on base covered so feel free to ask any questions you might have in the dyess thread down at the bottom of the main menu.

Thanks for the compliments. Looks like I'm going 130's (317th). I know I'm not on the B-1, 'cuz my RIP says AMC and not ACC on it

Good deal dude. I'm a C-130 crew chief. I'm tellin you dude, once you get here, expect the worst and hope for the best. I'm leaving here next month to go to B-1s at Ellsworth AFB, SD and I shit you not I am Xing out the days as they pass on the calendar. 317 AMXS is awful, but maybe by the time you get here it'll be better.
There's a guy in AMXS by the name of Kotal that has a black '96 Cobra with 18" Saleen wheels that you'll probably see around. He's more in to visible stuff and not so much performance stuff tho. There's also a guy in one of the flying squadrons with an '08 BMW M5 Dinan, a Screamin Yellow '04 Cobra, a blown Fox Body, a '67 Camaro drag car, and a couple of pretty quick rice burners.
If you have any questions at all about the squadron at all, feel free to PM me and I'll tell you what you wanna know...be in the 317th (in ISO, AR, MOC, and AMXS) for six years so there isn't much I haven't seen.

Thanks for the info. As far as I'm concerned, it's not in car-hating Commiefornia, so I'm gonna love it. I'm gonna have to go fail smog every month until I leave so I can register in TX (which is where I'm from anyway :woot2:)

FYI just cause it says amc doesn't mean you won't end up on acc side. I've had two new guys come in that were supposed to be 130's and they are crewin the bone. Wish you luck though. Just be prepared.

Lol, no, I'm not aircrew. I'm in the business of fixing jets, not breaking them
I'm a hydro guy on KC-10s here

As hydro you'll probably be alright. It's the APG side that blows hard and get the shaft constantly. We had one of our APG section chiefs go to Travis a few weeks back to be an observer for your LCAP so we could see how it worked. I'm super jealous you work KC-10s...that's my favorite plane.

Why do YOU hate the 317th? Because you've had minimal contact with some of our douchebag loads? Give me a break.

Yeah, don't mean to brag, but we did get the only 'Outstanding' on the base...I'm just sayin' :p
It's a great jet, but I'm tired of playing with Skydrol and doing stuff fuel cell should be doing

You're not the first person I've heard say that. Hydraulics on C-130s is gonna be easy dude. WAY easy. When you get here, be ready to do a whole lotta nothin at work because we don't call hydro out for much. There's a couple of really good dudes in that shop though...but there's a couple of WINNERS too...just remember machewychomp (real name is Thompson...has the most jacked up grill ever) and Tran. Soon enough you'll be exposed to them. They're....special.

I'm gonna be juuuuuust fine at Ellsworth. Not worried about the weather...just means we get "snow days" during the winter. There's been a couple of weeks my wife has only had to work a couple-three days because the roads on base were so bad.
And Sturgis is 20 minutes away :headbang2:
