So, Thursday night was a fun night. Had an 80' truck deliver a little something for me (thread on that here (http://www.forums.abilenemustangs.net/showthread.php?t=460)). To help celebrate the delivery, Corey (Mustangfreak) and I decided to run to the store to buy some cold adult beverages. On our way, we passed something in the road, and after backing up, we saw it was a rattlesnake, maybe 3-3.5ft long. We stopped the car right there in the middle of the street and got out to "investigate". Or, as I called it, got out to play Steve Irwin.

I took a quick pic with the iPhone, then ran back to the house to grab the truck (for more light), my camera (for better pics), and a broomstick (for more man/snake interaction). Here are the resulting pics.

And before anyone reprimands me for playing with a live Western Diamondback, I've already received the traveling "Mentally Challenged Posterior" award from my squadron.

And no, we didn't kill it. Corey wouldn't let me. Even though it was only about 50 feet from people's houses.

Oh trust me I wanted to. I wasn't 5 feet away from the car and I was taking offmy shoe to throw at it's head. Then when I had the Jack handle (prior to the broomstick), it was all I could do to not bash it's head in. I want a skin for my trophy wall. Lol
(Our squadron has a bar, and in the bar we have a 6 ft rattler's skin hanging on the wall. It was killed by a former squadron member.)

I have strict orders from Matt and his girlfriend Leigh to kill any future snakes on site. And I will oblige. Lol

Had I been there it would have been a bull snake, poisions snakes and myself never meet.... odd.

We used to catch them on the time on my land outside of Aspermont. I have 3 snake skins a little longer than that on a board in my storage shed somewhere.

At Shamrock Liquor in Sweetwater they have a 7 footer stuffed that was killed near Amarillo. Imagine walking up on that bitch.

My cat keeps bringing a kingsnake into the house. The first time my husband just about shit. He yelled like a little girl! Our daughter picked it up & carried out to the lake. LMAO Xena Jr.? <evil grin>
