I know I haven't been around much. Just been busy, working on cars, drinking beers....having fun with the kids. Etc etc. Just wanted to give a heads up on where I am if anyone cares.
As some know, I took the twins off my car to go back to N/A for my DD. Ill be throwing a TT kit in my 89 Notch with a modular...so no worries there.
Anyway, build started out as just a 32V Big Bore setup...mild cams, Sullivan or Ported Short Runner intake, along with some cheap Longtubes and rebuild my T-45....
Well it has changed quite a bit and the end bill/result as been upped quite a bit...
I sent the block off to Modular Performance to get the sleeves installed...just to find out when it got back...my machine shop could have done it. lol. DAMN IT!
ANyway...so my mahchine shop gets the assembly balanced within a 1/4 gram. I got the short block assembled a few weeks ago. I was waiting on my machine shop to throw a little grinding into the 03 Aviator heads...I waited a few weeks and finally got inpatient and told him to just forget it (he hooks me up...so I was put on the back burner, not calling him out...as he is a great friend...just saying i am inpatient. lol). So I tell him to just assemble them...and Ill pick them up later that day.
I call a few of my buds telling them my car will be done 'that' weekend. They all started asking me how the head porting came out. To which my reply was it didn't. They all got pissed and told me if I didn't do that I would be pissed. Well they were right...
So I make a few calls...got a hold of a good buddy in Florida. Www.ModularSpeed.com, Kelly is his name. He got me a GREAT deal on some Stage III CNC ported heads. They have been proven to flow 330+ on intake and 275 on the exhaust. These are the same heads Carlos (NAZMAN) on other boards uses on his Big Bore Stroker setup making over 530rwhp. I just got them back from UPS this Monday, but sure enuff, my luck kicked in. UPS ****ed them up! Good thing is, my machine shop is bad ass and was able to fix them! They should be done Friday. Hope to pick them up this weekend.
Also had a 'small' set of custom grind cams made by me and Todd (NA SVT on other boards), ground by Bullet. They couldn't make them as big as I wanted as the cam lobe for a 'regrind' only goes so big.... lol.
Anyway. on the other side...I got instead of some cheap BBK headers...I got AR Headers on a great deal by Kelly (modularspeed again). So I couldn't pass those up.
Along with some 4.56s in the IRS. Woot Woot!
I also found a great deal on a Pro-Motion T45 with about 1000 miles on it. I had to buy it. Hello shifting at 7500 and running through the traps at 8000+.
I hope to have the car down and running within a week or two. Everything is here/ at the machine shop...so it is just gonna take ME getting off my butt and spend the timing lashing the cam lobes and degree'ing them, along with installing everything.
Beginning goal was 400rwhp+....now I hoping for more like 440-450rwhp.
Ill post some pics up as i start putting stuff together. I am also going to try and make another video much like my TT build one.
Thanks all for reading...I like to type sometimes. lol.

This thing is going to be nasty!!! im one of the people giving him shit about non ported heads...
This thing with a cammed 4v and 3.73's ran door to door with light bolt on c5z...
With another 80 hp way more gear way more rpm way more everything... this is going to be one of the nastiest na modulars in the country...
Matt you have a great talent when it comes to cars man... if only you didnt have such shitty taste in them you would be running 6's...... lmao man good luck getting it assembled!!!!!!!!!!!!

Update.
Dyno today was ok...but a little let down.
Started out...shop was 108* according to the thermometer on the dynojet and my IAT sensor that was dangling by my MAF...(haven't had time to drill a hole and put it in the tube yet)
First pull rich, lean, pretty much all over, and the stock mach 1 91 octane timing tables...minus 4* globally, netted me 4xxrwhp. timing was 18-19* IIRC, and A/F like I said was all over. That pull I just wanted to see it get to 7000 ok.
Next pull was 4xxrwhp. left timing alone. CLeaned up the A/F...and shop temps were climbing. Took it to 7500...but for some reason above 7000 it 'chugs'...you know it still pulls...but doesn't pull clean...almost like spark blowout or the computer can't understand 7001+rpm. IDK...
third pull, I cleaned up the A/F a little bit more and threw 2* of the global back in. 4xxrwhp. Same problem above 7000rpm...
Last clean up on the A/F, and put the global back to 0. Made 4xxrwhp, 111* temp in the shed, 108* temp on the IAT, and 23* of total timing. mind you this is 93 octane pump gas. ANd still messing up above 7000.
So we took the plugs out and took the GAP down to .040"....it was at .054" It seemed to help a little...lost a few HP (sure it was the heat), but didn't seem to surge or waver as bad above 7000. After my machinest left, he asked how it did...told him the problem, and he said I need to gap the plugs down to .030-.025. Says to get it to run right at those RPMs you have to gap it this small....so tomorrow I will be gapping the plugs again, and taking it out to see if that helps.
Cars HP curve is dead nuts a 45*, almost 60* angle straight to the 8000rpm mark. It gets to 7000 and doesn't NOSE off, but doesn't increase as much. Still making more power....It wants more.
I know that if I had a cooler day...get it to rev to 8000 cleanly, add more timing, I don't see why I can't get my 4xxrwhp goal. It is still climbing hard at 7000...it is begging for more.
More to follow as I fix the studder issue...
SHould have some videos sometime during the weekend...
I would post up the numbers...but I know there are lurkers in here from the old ASS forum...and well. I just wanna tear their ass up with a little modular motor before they see my numbers...gonna be a lot of butt hurt LS cars in town soon...:blah:

I've seen quite a few 4v cars in town. There's probably 6-10 Terminators on base alone...probably 4-6 Machs....a handful of 96-98 Cobras...a couple '99 and '01 Cobras. That's just on base. There are quite a few of them in town.

all ive seen this past month is the Dsg With The shiny black wheels (mine are flat)
The others must be deployed or gone

The DSG with the shiney black Mach wheels is a MSgt. He used to work in QA...but his last name is Atwood.

There is also the Stock Dsg on Base that has an SNco driving it, i thought the other was someones girlfriend on here.
SeeingRed

You're right. Atwood's is stock with the stocker wheels on it. I think the one with the black chrome wheels is the one I see parked at the mall. Forgot to mention there is also a Zinc Yellow '03 Mach that parks in the dorm parking lot east of the chow hall. I was thinking today and I thought of at least six Machs in town I know of. There's a douche bag that drives an '04 TR Mach with DD bullitt wheels, a CO Mach I see once in a while, three DSGs, and an AB that parks down the road from Matt's, and the Zinc Yellow '03 by the chow hall. So, needless to say there are plenty of 4v motors around town.
Speaking of Matt, this thread is about his car. Sorry for the hijack.
