if I had to choose one word to sum up the experience...

...

AWESOME!!!!!!!!!

Matt told me they had a Kona Blue '10 Mustang in the showroom in Anson. Knowing that our dealer here in Abilene wouldn't be getting any new Mustangs in until late July early August :disturbed: :badmood:, I decided to make the trip out after work to check out this new Kona Blue. (At this point all I've seen is pictures and Kona is my new favorite color, lol)

Anyways, I am on 277 heading into town, see the Ford sign, pull into the center lane to make the turn into the dealership parking lot, and there it was. A GRABBER BLUE 2010 GT, just sitting there calling my name!! It was about this time that I immediately regretted dropping my camera lens off at UPS 20 minutes earlier. But have no fear, the trusty iPhone was near!

So I parked the truck, took out the phone, and walked around the car for a minute, taking in all the details, admiring the color. By the way, I quickly learned two things about this particular car.
1) All the photos you see of this Grabber Blue color do NOT do it justice! I thought Azure blue would always be my favorite blue on a Mustang, and judging by what I saw in photos across the internet, thought this Grabber Blue would be too pale, and wouldn't have enough punch. Boy was I wrong! This is by far my new favorite shade of blue, and possibly my new second favorite color ever on a Mustang, falling short only to Dark Highland Green!
2) Another thing pics don't do - show the rear end for all it's worth. I was HIGHLY impressed by the look of the rear once I saw it in person! I can't describe what the difference is between seeing it in pictures and seeing it in person, but it's really an entirely different view! I actually prefer it to the earlier S197!!!

Anyways, to continue with the story, I had enough time to briefly look at the sticker price ($33,9xx) and snap a single shot with the iPhone, before the salesman came out and greeted me. He was a very personable gentleman, didn't try to pressure me into buying it at all. We talked for about 17 seconds before I asked if I could take it for a test drive, and to my surprise, he actually said YES!!!! :headbang2:

He tosses me the keys, I unlock the doors and slide into the AMAZING interior! This particular model had two tone, black and tan interior. I can't get over how big of a leap this interior is over the outgoing S197 model, it's honestly night and day!

So I start the beast, and she awakens with a nice grumble. Put her in gear and we roll out onto 277, I pull out into traffic and easily work my way through the gears, which were very smooth! I've got a huge cheesy grin on my face the entire time, talking myself into wanting this thing more than the salesman was, lol. I found a place to pull a u-turn, and figured I'd been gentle on her long enough, it was time to come screaming back into town! Rolling out of the turn, I stomp on it in first, shift into second and continue laying into it, then into the higher RPM's in 3rd before letting off at around 85mph! The rest of the drive was uneventful, save for all the snapping necks and near accidents caused by me driving this Grabber Blue beast down the middle of town on a sunny afternoon!

I got out, snapped some more pics, and took a quick video with the iPhone and handed the saleman the keys, and drove off. I know it's just a GT but it left me with an impression. If I didn't have a Bullitt to build (and therefore a need for a truck), the truck would have been traded in today.

Anyways, on to the good stuff, here are the pics and video, all taken with the iPhone. The video plays rather fast for some reason when hosted... it plays regular speed from the phone itself... And yes, I touched up the pics. I felt bad for not having my camera on me, so I had to make an attempt to make the phone pics look as good as possible. :)
