I stopped by this morning to have the oil changed and tires rotated on the FX4, took a look at the black GT500KR in the showroom, and started talking to a salesman in there. And actually now that I'm thinking of that, the guy didn't know what he was talking about, he told me that KR was the 725hp version, but didn't all the KR's come with 540hp? It was the SuperSnakes that were offered in two different hp outputs... Anyways, talking to him, and ask him the same question I asked another salesman about 2 weeks ago, when are they getting the 2010 Mustangs in. He told me the same thing the previous guy did, they were expecting to start seeing them show up in July-August. Ummm, WHAT?? I'm seeing cell phone pics being posted on other forums by people who are seeing the new Mustangs at their dealers already! Why is Arrow going to be 3 MONTHS behind the release??? That doesn't make any sense to me.
Oh, the dealer this morning did say there was a 2010 Premium V6 Convertible there this weekend, driven in by a Ford rep that was there to show them all about the new Mustang. Said it was very nice. I also asked about the rumored (confirmed by "insiders") 5.0L for the 2011 Mustangs and he didn't know a thing about it.
I remember the same issues with the release of the 08 Bullitts... The sales people didn't know anything about them at all, then when they did know about them (about 2 months after their release) they didn't know if or when they'd be getting any in, and I never did end up seeing one on the lot...
Their sales people may not know much about their products, but the folks in the Service and Parts depts are great folks. I've grown to know a couple of them since the Bullitt went down last March.
Oh btw, for the military folks on here, Ford Service dept offers a $17.95 oil change for military members, excludes deisels and synthetic oils. They asked me to pass that on this morning. :t)
