As of yesterday AbileneMustangs is officially blocked by the Dyess network. :badmood:

Lt Dan and I discussed a work around that used to work (creating a mirror site), but to no avail. If you're on base, you probably saw the email that came down from the NCC that INOSC is blocking ALL traffic to websites that weren't already approved, which is why the mirror site idea didn't work out. The recent round of restrictions is in response to the possible April 1st virus attack that's being talked about right now. Not sure if the restrictions will remain in place permanently or if they will let up after the threat is over, but I'm not holding my breath.

Not sure what to say about it at this point. The only real suggestion I have is, if you are blocked at work, invest in an iPhone. :banana:

Yeah the block is being enforced by the INOSC, so it'll affect most if not all bases.

Got an email from the MajGen in charge of AFNetOps (forwarded obviously, lol), saying they were implementing an immediate blockage of all network traffic to sites with a proxy signature of "none" or "uncategorized". So while the BlueCoat hadn't listed us as forums/message boards yet, *knock on wood*, we hadn't been classified as anything, so we still got blocked. Only way around it is to contact the help desk and make the case that AM is work related. LMAO Well, in a way it is isn't it? You know, helps morale? :look:

not sure.... but even if we were labeled the same, we weren't up long enough before the block went into effect...
