i think you just go up to the registration office and apply for them. they check to make sure the plate is not already assigned to someone.

google it, i printed the page brought it in. 50something dollers later i walk out wiht a temp plate and reg sticker.

Im bringing this back from the dead. I need new ideas. The State just announced new plates and they are now 7 letters long. They actually dont look that bad imo. http://www.txdot.gov/news/023-2009.htm

sweet deal. I had 4PT6LTR on the Bullitt... trying to come up with something for the new Mustang. I have 7 char's for my AL plates too. I could just transfer the plates to the new Mustang, or... GRABBER ?? GRBRBLU ?? FRPP GT ??

I like these 1mansho, cponygo, mustang, ninety7, or bone stock, what do you think? My favorite is the 1st one. The good thing is that if you are quick you can get a good one before others take all of the 7 letter ones.
