Need input for a fall show/cruise/event

I want to do a big show for later in the summer or early fall, to keep the activity up on the site. We've got a busy month this month already, but it's never to early to start looking for things to do further down the road.

First order of business, does anyone know of anything going on on August or September? I don't want to compete with another event, if there's something else already going on, we can just join those events.

If no event is already in planning, we need to decide on a cause for the show and dates. Bsmoke made a good suggestion, we could do something to support the Ben Richey Boys Ranch. I'm all for it. With the timing though, we've got the opportunity to do something on the 10th anniversary of 9/11. Not sure the BRBR would be such a great fit for that type of anniversary event. Maybe a benefit foundation for the victims of the 9/11 events, or Red Cross... something like that.

If this is something any of you would be interested in helping plan, let me know, or just post up in this thread with any ideas you have. I'd like to keep making our events bigger and bigger, but it takes some behind the scenes work to pull this stuff off, and the more dedicated help we have, the better.

Let's hear some thoughts!

Abilene Racing Forum is putting on a Car Show at Cabo's Billard, 1874 S. Clack St., Abilene, Texas. Registration: 8:30-10:00 am. Entry fee: $20 with all proceeds go to the David Royall Fund (He has very rare genetic disease, "Aicardi Syndrom"* and is the only known Male to have the disease which is still very rare in Females). Classes: Street Machine, Competition, Corvette, Mustang, Import, Bike, Under ntruction, 4x4, Truck, Lowrider. Best In Class: Paint, Interior, Engine, Sound(dB). You may want to bring some ear-plugs if not a fan of the Thump-Thump-Thump "music"! People's Choice will be $1/vote Raffle Tickets. Trophies will be personal Road Signs.
